The Forge was a part of Re/Call 2018, an art event hosted by Redline Art Center and the Rocky Mountain Land Library at Buffalo Peaks Ranch, the new home for the land library. Soil excavated from the earthwork was formed into mud bricks and participants were invited to imprint the mud bricks with poetry, text or other impressions. The bricks were then dried and reinserted into the earthwork to create the walls. Soil was shaped and filtered through human experience of the land and then returned, to dissolve back into the landscape.
